Stopping Service

A customer who wants to stop service, must tell the Cooperative at least five (5) days before the requested disconnection date.

The minimum 5-day notice period begins:

  • On the day that the customer telephones the Cooperative.
  • When the customer informs the Cooperative in person, at the business office.
  • Three days after the customer has mailed the notice to the Cooperative.

If the customer has signed a written contract for a term of years under an Agreement for Electric Service with the Cooperative, the customer may stop service only under the terms and conditions as set forth in the Agreement for Electric Service.

The Cooperative must confirm the disconnection, if the customer asks.
